How the award |
The award will be used to part fund the groups two major costs. Insurance and an annual information card to every home in Sherborne. The group provide neighbourly help for town residents which is unrestricted but mostly the elderly or disabled without their own car, unable to access buses or unable to afford taxis. This takes the form of volunteer transport to hospitals in Yeovil, Dorchester and beyond, surgeries, pharmacies etc. Also relieving carers, shopping, visiting the lonely, taking people for walks, letter writing, form filling and occasional light DIY. |
