How the award |
The Eco Schools committee have used the award to purchase 4/5 chickens, a chicken coop and a run. They believe that this will enhance all the children's understanding of where food comes from, it will enable the eggs to be used for cooking at school as well as breakfasts for the before school club (SCAPA); furthermore the chickens will be an excellent focus for the 50+ SEN children at the school, who will be able to feed the chickens, collect eggs and clean them out. The committee have chosen a static coop with a run that is large enough not to need moving continually. |
