How the award |
The group which is based at St Pauls Church seeks to strengthen the relationship between dads and their children, as well as other men and families,through the competitive sport of Scalextric racing. It provides fathers, sons and daughters the opportunity to bond in a family competitive atmosphere. The race track is laid out as closely as possible to the forthcoming Grand Prix race track. The evenings include a meal and has attracted considerable interest from the local community in a deprived area of Sherborne. We plan 4 to 5 evenings a year. The majority of participants to date are not members of the church. The award will be used to upgrade existing second hand track and controls, to increase reliability and thus make races more equitable and enjoyable. |
