Future Roots will use the award to deliver a transition programme for young people leaving primary schools in the Sherborne area.

Future Roots provide farm-based vocational training and therapeutic programmes for young people who are experiencing challenges at school or at home. Many are entering or leaving care; dealing with anxiety, anger or depression; or struggling through conditions such as autism.

Six sessions will be delivered over the summer holidays, based on our successful programme from the last two years.

The transition to secondary school is difficult for those young people who are disadvantaged due to the issues mentioned above, as they lack support. By addressing these issues at the key point of transition Future Roots are able to improve young people's mental health and wellbeing.
