How the award
will be used

The award will be used to purchase a replacement marquee, to use at local fundraising events, fetes, village halls and community centres as shelter for performers, craft workshops, choirs, face painting and swap-shops.

The existing 6m x 3m marquee has been in constant use for seven years, thanks to help from volunteers who repair it every winter. Unfortunately the tent was very badly damaged in a storm last autumn and is now beyond repair. The replacement will enable the BearCats Collective’s to fulfil its diary of local forthcoming events and activities. The replacement marquee will also be easier to erect and take down which will help considerably in bad weather conditions.
